As
part of EDSO qualifying basketball competition for the 2004 European
Deaf Basketball Championships to be held in Slovenia. Israel was
drawn against Latvia on 21 June 2003 at the Dror Sports Centre
near Netanya.
The result was 108-41 in favour of Israel (41-24 at half
time).
In the second half, Israel gave aggressive defence with breakaway
in the last minutes with 67 points shot in the second half.

The hall built for 450 spectators but it was packed with over
600 people jammed in every corner. The match was officiated by
2 FIBA referees and 3 IBA officials.
The return match is scheduled for 15th November 2003 in Riga,
Latvia.
